We generally consider workshops over 5,000 sq ft or 60 ft wide to be large workshops. These structures often require red iron framing for adequate clear-span and overhead crane support.

Yes. We can design buildings with multiple crane runway beams at different heights and capacities within the same structure.

Q: What is the maximum height available for large workshops?

Large workshops can be designed with eave heights up to 50+ ft to accommodate overhead crane lift heights and very tall equipment.

Q: Do large workshops require a specific foundation type?

Most large workshops use a reinforced concrete slab with piers or grade beams depending on soil conditions. Our engineering drawings specify foundation requirements for your structural engineer or contractor.

Q: Can I phase the construction of a large workshop?

Yes. We can design the building to allow for future expansion in phases. Endwalls can be configured as removable for future lengthening.
